VFX Artist
Overview
We are seeking an experienced VFX Artist with console expertise at the Visceral Redwood Shores Studio. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new IP.
Responsibilities
• Research, conceptualize, and animate natural effects (water, smoke, foliage, dust, fabric); as well as fantastical effects (explosions, etc.)
• Communicate effectively amongst level artists, animators, character artists, designers and programmers
• Interpret the Art Director’s vision and execute on it throughout the project, deliver effects for a AAA title
• Understand FX work flows and tools with the ability to modify and improve them
Requirements
• Minimum of 2+ years experience required
• Must have experience creating FX in a game engine
• Experience in Photoshop and After Effects
• Experience with high end CG effects systems utilizing particle systems, dynamics, and procedural animation (e.g. Maya, Houdini, MAX, etc.)
• Experience with a scripting language (Mel, Maxscript or Python, etc.) would be an asset
• Able to communicate and work well with designers to anticipate their needs
• Possess good problem solving skills
• Solid technical abilities to aid in creating new visual effects art pipelines
