Videogame localization testers - German - 3 Month Contract - May Be Extended
My client is hiring localization testers to work on a famous game for approx. three months (with a possible extension), starting early February 2012 and ending mid May 2012. Based in-house, testers will proactively perform testing tasks, ensuring the highest quality of the materials to be tested.
The studio is located in a new high tech building in Spain where nearby entertainment includes cultural events, Museums (Picasso, Thyssen), golf, horseback riding, biking, yatching, skiing, beach volleyball, racetrack racing (Formula 3, LeMans, Porsche GT3), karting, etc.
As part of the testing team, you will have to work in line with Company/Client procedures, along with the Project Manager and the rest of the testing team.
Tester duties will be as follows:
•Ensure linguistic and cultural quality.
•Help the game meet 1st party standards required for the platform.
•Follow Test Plans/Test Cases and planning precisely as indicated by the Project Manager.
•Have a passion for videogames and know their structure and mechanics.
•Have overtime availability.
•Follow stringent security procedures.
Required skills:
•Excellent mother tongue language skills (you must pass a linguistic exam).
•Fluency in English both written and oral.
•Attention to detail and the ability to explain in a concise and structured manner.
•Strong teamwork skills.
•Videogames and console knowledge and experience playing games.
•Full availability during the timeline of the project.
•Medium user level knowledge of Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
•Experience in software quality assurance processes.
•Experience in localization testing for the videogames industry.
•Nintendo DS experience
Note: Candidates must pass a test before being considered for the position. Also, they will need to attend a mandatory training course provided by the studio.
A flight to and from Spain is included in the package as well as assistance finding suitable accommodation during the duration of your assignment.
