Web Developers
at Zamzee
Redwood City, CA
Zamzee Co., a Peninsula start-up created by HopeLab, is seeking two web developers to build a fun and ground-breaking website that will ignite a lifetime of physical activity in tweens.
What is Zamzee?
Zamzee makes moving around a fun, rewarding experience for tweens. The Zamzee product is an online economy and rewards system powered by physical activity recorded through an activity meter. The sleek device is worn on the belt or in a pocket. Activity data recorded by the Zamzee is then uploaded to a tween’s personal profile on the Zamzee website, where activity is calculated into points. These points can be spent on lots of great stuff like customizable avatars, gift cards, even the opportunity to make a donation to a cause.
Zamzee Co. is the start-up that will take our product to market. HopeLab has brought Zamzee through several phases of prototype development and testing and will pass on this work to Zamzee Co. who will take the product to market. Developers will work closely with our newly hired CEO and COO, and with the HopeLab staff to transition the work and commercialize the product. Zamzee Co. will be considered a success if we have both a meaningful impact on tween health as well as profitability.
The Jobs
We are seeking two web developers to engineer the Zamzee web experience. Our web site will be built in Ruby on Rails and will incorporate a number of complex features including: avatar engine, a number of Flash animations, a data upload service (to pull and load device activity data), e-commerce; APIs to smart phones and social networking sites (e.g., Facebook and MySpace); integrated links/apps to partner business platforms. While crafting an awesome and impactful product, you’ll also have the opportunity and challenge of learning about and meeting the needs of some of the smartest people around – tweens!
These are full-time positions located in Redwood City, although the first 2-3 months of the job will be on-site with our developer partner, Pivotal Labs, in San Francisco.
